Sponsored by the Wisconsin Medical Society, the Amy Hunter-Wilson, MD Scholarship Fund is designed to award $3,000 each year to American Indians who are enrolled at an accredited college or university in a medical or health science program to pursue a career in the healthcare field. Qualified applicants must be U.S. citizens, be enrolled members of a federally recognized American Indian tribe, have graduated from high school, maintain full-time enrollment in any health-related program, showcase academic achievement, and have significant financial need. 2. Basil L. King Foundation Scholarships

Deadline: June 30th

Annually, the Basil L. King Foundation grants three scholarships for varying amounts to residents of St. Lucie County in Florida who have been accepted full-time at an accredited two or four-year college in the United States to pursue a degree in health science. Eligible students must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 3.0, plan to start a career in the health sciences, have financial need, and intend to return to the Treasure Coast upon graduation. Along with the application, candidates must submit a copy of their driver's license, proof of enrollment in a health science program, and unofficial academic transcripts.

3. Bill and Mary Russell Health Care Scholarship

Deadline: July 1st

Through the Heartland Foundation, the Bill and Mary Russell Health Care Scholarship is presented annually for up to $1,000 to deserving college students currently enrolled full-time in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in the health sciences. Eligible applicants must complete at least 12 credits each semester, attend a U.S. university, have work experience in the health care field, and submit at least two dated letters of recommendation. For consideration, students must reside in one of the approved counties within Heartland's service area in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, or Iowa.

4. California Allied Healthcare Scholarship

Deadline: September 11th

Administered through the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD), the California Allied Healthcare Scholarship is awarded each year for up to $8,000 to students currently accepted in an approved in-state health science program, including clinical laboratory science, community health, social work, medical laboratory technology, radiation therapy, diagnostic medical sonography, and more. Applicants must enroll in six or more credits per term, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0, have valid legal presence in California, and have at least one full year of studies remaining. Recipients will be obligated to work 12 months providing direct patient care at a qualified California facility.

5. CBCF General Mills Health Scholarships

Deadline: February 28th

In the amount of $2,500, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBDF) partners with General Mills each year to provide scholarships for up to 46 African American students who are currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in health science or services. Qualified candidates must attend an accredited university in the United States full-time, carry a minimum overall GPA of 2.75, reside in a CBC member district, and exhibit leadership ability in health-related community service. Selection will be based on students' academic records, participation in extra-curricular activities, work experience, financial need, and career goals.

6. Edelman Health Sciences Scholarship

In honor of two Alaskan adventurers who devoted their life to improving the health and welfare of communities in Southeast Alaska, the Grace and Phil Edelman Health Sciences Scholarship is awarded each year for $5,000 to graduating high school seniors who intend to pursue a degree in the health science field. 7. Frederick J. Krause Scholarship

Within the American Association on Health and Disability (AAHD), the Frederick J. Krause Scholarship is distributed annually for $1,000 to deserving undergraduate and graduate students with disabilities who are pursuing a degree in public health, health science, health promotion, disability studies, or disability research. 8. George M. Burditt Scholarship Award

Since 1981, the George M. Burditt Scholarship Award has been offered for $1,500 each year by the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO) to undergraduate students pursuing a degree in health science to begin a career related to improving any aspect of food, drug, or consumer product safety. 9. HRSA Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students

Each year, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) gives money to participating universities across the United States to distribute to full-time financially needy students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are pursuing a degree related to health science professions. Eligible majors include medicine, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy, veterinary medicine, nursing, public health, health science, chiropractic care, allied health, mental health, and osteopathic medicine. 10. Indian Health Service Pre-Graduate Scholarships

As part of the Indian Health Service (IHS), the Pre-Graduate Scholarships are granted each year to cover full tuition costs with a $1,500 monthly stipend for living expenses to American Indian and Alaska Native undergraduate students who are earning a bachelor's degree in health science. 11. IOKDS Health Careers Scholarship

Sponsored by the International Order of the King's Daughters and Sons, the IOKDS Health Careers Scholarship is designed to award $1,000 to students at accredited institutions in the United States or Canada who are pursuing a health science-related degree to begin a career caring for God's children. 12. Justine E. Granner Memorial Scholarship

Administered by the Iowa United Methodist Foundation (IUMF), the Justine E. Granner Memorial Scholarship is granted for $1,000 each year for ethnic minority students who are enrolling full-time in an accredited college in Iowa to receive a degree in public health, health science, nursing, or another health-related field. 13. Kathleen McDermott Health Sciences Scholarship

Through the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE), the Kathleen McDermott Health Sciences Scholarship is presented for $2,500 each year to high-achieving U.S. college students who are planning to pursue undergraduate studies in public health, community health, health science, nursing, or related fields outside the United States. 14. NEHA/AAS Scholarship Awards

In partnership with the America Academy of Sanitarians (AAS), the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) has established an annual scholarship program to distribute $2,000 awards to students who are enrolled in a health science or public health degree accredited by the Environmental Health Accreditation Council (EHAC). 15. NIH Undergraduate Scholarship Program

Offering up to $20,000 annually for a maximum of four academic years, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Undergraduate Scholarship Program is available for undergraduate students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are pursuing a health science degree for a career in biomedical, behavioral, or social science research. In honor of a beloved physical therapist who was legally blind and enthusiastic about helping students advance their health careers as far as their talents could take them, the Robert D. Kruse Memorial Scholarship Fund awards $5,000 each year through the Cleveland Clinic. 20. Vazquez Pride in Health Scholarship Program

As part of the Pride Foundation, the Vazquez Pride in Health Scholarship Program is hosted annually to provide up to $2,000 to graduate students pursuing advanced health-related degrees in medicine, public health, community health, or health science.
